I Really Couldn't Think Of A Title For This One...

Hi! Oh, Internet, how I've missed you... Josh, with gleaming intentions, took my computer away for a few days in order to get it running better. However, now it's all fancy and new-like and I'm having adjustment issues. Also, my email address book went missing and I feel a bit cut off, so if you're at home, hitting "refresh" and looking for an email from me, you can be pretty sure that, sadly, none will be on their way until Computer Man comes back from Mexico.
As far as news goes, Miles has yet another ear infection and is currently knocking back antibiotic #5. Augh. He IS WALKING though and doing that standing up in the middle of the floor thing, which is pretty neat.
Kate started Irish Dance this morning and declared it THE. BEST. DANCE. CLASS. EVER!!! She is also very fond of playing with rocks lately and usually has one (or more) in her hand or pocket at any time.
Well, what I have for you today, kids, is a sight that I witnessed this afternoon right outside the entrance to the retirement communtity that is just west of our neighborhood. Disclaimer: There were no other cars around and I did NOT have my children in the vehicle.
Just in case it isn't clear, the poor lady was "walking" her dog, but she was in a Rascal or something and the dog was in a shopping cart that was bungeed to her scooter. She had to stop and fix it at one point because when she would take off, the doggy got whiplash and then the cart would slam back into her.

This is Mikele reporting from south Chandler. Back to you, Jim.

A Funny Quirk About The Man I Sleep With

I know three people who have already stopped reading...

Josh is a food snob. It's not with mean spiritness that I say so, it's just the darn truth. He truly married the wrong woman in regard to this Food Affair, since his mom cooks from scratch and I cook from a box (or bag). My mom doesn't cook, my grandmother didn't cook - and as you can see, it's clearly not my fault. Over our almost six years together, I have tucked a few recipes into my apron, but I would say for sure that cooking is just not my thing. I don't have a passion for it.
Josh
belongs at Le Cordon Bleu and I would give just about anything for him to forget pianos and take up dutch ovens. Yesterday, I was making out the shopping list and I asked Josh what he wanted for dinner this week. He said I could pick up some penne (we are waaaayy past spaghetti) and some ingredients for a red sauce. Not spaghetti sauce, not marinara... red sauce. Tonight he made very delicious pasta and when I came downstairs to eat, here it was:

I took the picture mostly because the bread caught my eye:

"I took a picture of your pinwheel."
"Presentation is everything."

Yep, we're first class over here.

Good Morning To You!

Miles has officially beaten the ear infections into submission, but since he knew that today was "Well Visit Day" at the new pediatrician, he decided that contaminating every inch of sleeping space with vomit was the thing to do. I was half asleep, so please excuse me for stripping his bed before taking a picture. I did, however, snap a shot of the pile once I woke up a bit...

Hey, wait! Did I forget to mention that Josh is the one who actually found the poor boy covered in yuck? Did I tell you that he took off the barfed on jammies and then dressed him like this?

"Seriously people! Knock it off!"

I didn't switch it around right away (even when I changed his diaper) because he needed a bath soon anyway. When he woke Kate up, the first thing she said was, "His jammers are on all wrong."

Josh also told me that Miles seemed to have a cut on his head.
Me: "Where?"
Josh: "On his head."
Thank you. That clears it up.

See it? Ah, not a cut afterall, but a chunk of throwup stuck in his hair.

And that's Wednesday.

Just Keep Your Shirt On!

This post is so aptly named for two reasons:
a) I got some comments about my lack of a new post... but hey, they're still comments...
b) It's all about Mardi Gras Bunco

I know you've all been waiting for this month's
installment of Bunco pictures. Kim hosted Mardi Gras Bunco and made the most yummy Jambalaya I've ever eaten. I wonder if I could get her to post the recipe in the comments... (I'm pushing it, I know.)

So, here's the gang all freakishly decked out in masks and beads. We got beads by rolling Baby Buncos (three in a row, for all of you who aren't savvy), not by doing anything else...ya know?

Cherie, Heather, Taylor, Holly, Robyn, Kelly and Kim

Katie and Me. We had our own picture because no one told us about the color scheme...

Taylor and Holly had real Mardi Gras masks, as opposed to the Party America kind

Shout Out

Introducing the newest member of the Blogroll... Howie and The Pit Crew. Sometimes I get asked if I know all the people that I have linked over there. Um, no. I stalk quite a few. However, Howie's mom, Carrie, is my good friend and a fellow conversation interrupter. It's truly impressive how many topics we can tear through if left alone at Cheesecake Factory long enough. Joshua Howard is her sweet bald son and I, for one, am very happy to see that they've joined Bloggerland. Enjoy!

Hey There, You're A Rock Star!

Kate has been taking a dance class on Fridays with her good friends Emily, Kennedy, Abby and Amelia. They had their dance "recital" last week and it was so special to watch... amid the many camera flashes and video recorders. We had to find our way through the maze of tripods when we came down the hallway. The girls were really excited to have us watch all of their "moves."

Here's a video of their main dance:

Solid Gold.
Stay tuned because the girls are signed up for Irish Dance next.
I'm not kidding. I seriously can't wait to see Kate take on Riverdance.

Feelin' Groovy

Miles is finally feeling better and is on the move. Aunt Terry got him this walker for his birthday and he loves it. Well, he loves the wheels...

A Birthday in Three Parts

Both Miles and I celebrated our birthdays in February. Yes, I have come to terms with sharing my birthday month. I'm working on Maturity. I'll let you know how it goes.
Party #1:
"The One Where I Asked Kate To Show Off Her Carwheel,
And She Fell On Her Head."

Miles and Matt jammin'

The trampoline. Kate's favorite place to be. There were kids in the tree next door and she thought that it was the actual tree talking to her, "Hey, Tree! What are you doing?"

Party #2:

"The One Where I Went Out With The Girls, Not Knowing That It W
as A Roast."

Jen and I

Carrie and Heather

Astraea and Robyn

Katie, Gaynor and Jen

My fabulous ice cream cake. We went to AJ's afterward for coffee and they surprised me with the cake and Katie's famous lemon bars.

Party #3: "The One Where Miles Woke Up With Spots And Robyn & Com
pany Missed It Because We Thought It Was The Pox. But It Wasn't."

Grandma and Miles

Michael

Kristin

Amelia, Kate and Madison

Clarissa

And then Joe said, "Let's get all the kids together for a picture." I think Scotty should have been holding Amelia instead...

All. Done.

Grace and Tre

Adam and Colin

"Um, Mom. My ear still hurts..."

ps - Thanks Joe for the wonderful pictures.
