What Not To Wear

This morning I dropped a brand new jelly jar.

I was barefoot in the kitchen and sort of trapped by the glass.

I asked Kate to go and get me a pair of shoes out of my closet.

I'm not sure what went through her brain when choosing this particular pair. It really didn't go at all with my swimsuit.

She is so weird.

Along Came Summer... and Emma

My Assistant Blogger, Aunt Terry, sent me these from our family birthday party a couple of weeks ago...

Sweet cousin, Emma, is finally here! Tina and Brian apparently were bored with the not-yet-two year old triplets...

Congratulations, you crazy kids. Now, go start a blog 'cause we all want to see how you're gonna do this.

The Seedling Has Sprouted

Kate's first day of school in August...

... and her last day in June

No, we don't usually wear our suits to school, but I figured, why not finish up the year in a two piece... it says loads about your healthy self image.

Actually, it was water play day. But was it weird that I picked her up from school in my bikini?

Finale!

Here's just a few more pictures of our VBS Family Frenzy night. We had water slides, a petting zoo, and then the kiddos came inside to show off their moves.

We sooooo need one of these in our backyard

Power Lab!

We had VBS last week, Bunco at my house last night, and our first week of swimming lessons, so I just came up for air about three minutes ago.

Soooo... without further ado...

Vacation Bible School presents Power Lab - where we teach kids about Jesus' miraculous power and then they get slimed.

Holly, Fizz the test tube and my alter ego, Professor Wilma

We lead singing, did skits, taught lessons, and tried to do experiments... it was a lot of fun - if you like that sort of thing. Which I do...

... and apparently, so does Holly, I mean Light Lady

I found someone's nametag in the bathroom on Monday.

Oh, wait.

Tuesday was Crazy Hair Day - I'm so glad that I got to do piggies before we shaved his head.

Owen's green locks

Gracie's cool moves

Slime time for O-Dog

Peace.

The End Of An Era

Well, I did it.

Josh likened it to the fate of Samson. I think he said something about Miles "losing his mojo."

I like it. Kate was not happy. Miles really doesn't seem to care at all.

You're Still On WHAT Phase?!

We had a little Phase 10 party at our place...

It was also a birthday celebration for our buddy, Lance - who incidentally, was wearing a T-shirt depicting one of my favorite movies of this year. Who knows it?

It might be safe to say that most of us are tone-deaf.

Poor Josh didn't do all that well, but...

If you can see my clock, you can tell that it was almost 10:30 and people were dropping like flies - some were even, dare I say, cheating, in order to end the game. When did we get so old? Thanks, friends, it was such a fun night. Or early evening, I should say.

Two Hundred One and Seven

Blog legend says that you're supposed to list 100 hundred things about yourself on your 100th post. Well, I missed that and was planning on entertaining you on my 200th post... but I missed that too. So, for my 201st post, here are 10 things about me:

1. I'm an only child. Apparently, that can be quite obvious sometimes.

2. I dislike cucumbers, running, airplanes and repetitive noises.

3. I love dark chocolate, BNL, reading novels at breakneck speed and going out to eat.

4. My most embarrasing moment includes cheerleading, having a need to pee and a crowd of onlookers that wondered what in the world just happened.

5. Adoption is always been on my heart (and Josh's as well) and it's tugging at us quite heavily right now. However, it's at odds with the other part of me that has all of the questions... can we handle three? the third being from another place - which then begs all sorts of other questions... how will it change us? our marriage? our dynamic? how can we NOT do this? ah...

6. I adore public speaking (see #1).

7. Ear cleaning and toenail clipping are fascinating to me - I always loved when my mom cleaned my ears, and now Kate loves it too. I will clip anyone's nails, ask Madison.

8. One of my biggest pet peeves is bad grammar usage. Right, Kristi?

9. I love Jesus.

10. It's our 7th anniversary today (that's where the 7 in the title comes from) and as a sweet coincidence, it's Amelia's 5th birthday as well. Even stranger, Scotty's birthday falls on the date of our engagement. As you can imagine, I have high hopes for their third child's birthday.

For all of you who are about to comment in bad grammar... I'm on to you.
