All You Need Is Love

The Day of Love...

Kate and Grace illustrating that giraffes, as well as people, really do love each other.

This is Astraea bribing them with candy to smile for the camera. I love her.

Sibling love. The best kind.

I love cards. For Valentine's Day, Kate's class made cards for their parents and the envelope itself made me cry.

The card. Love it.

Oh, but the inside. I truly love it.

Josh's card reflects how much he knows me and my sometimes strange sense of humor. Ha! Biscuit love.

Dinner at the O Club. I heart seafood towers. Mmmmmm.... Shannon and Matt came with us and they swore that they didn't match on purpose.

Adam and Heather called the restaurant and offered to buy us dessert. We love them. Thanks, guys!

Enough said.

The Year I Turned 32 -or - I Heart My Friends

Let the birthday celebrations begin!

I will start off by saying that there was a time, years ago, where I began praying very specifically for friends. Real friends - I would die for you friends - filled with God's truth friends - laugh until you pee a little friends. Over the past decade, God has showered me with that particular blessing...overflowed actually. For my birthday, they treated me to dinner, a movie and some really outrageous cards - it was such a blast to just sit around and laugh. So, back to you, ladies...

Katie - First to laugh, to recognize somebody, to remember and ask about my life and it's details. You're a kick in the pants and I love that you think I'm funny. Who knew way back in Cam-Pack that we'd be such good friends - you never bought ME a bra...

Jen - Oh, Jen. I thought (actually I still think) that you were too cool for the likes of me. Turns out, we are alike in so many ways, like a shared love of the gross things in life and the fears of what our crazy daughters will be like at 13.

Robyn - I happy to say that I've seen your wild side, your sensitive side, your Game Robyn side and your ballerina side. You are probably way beyond your 24 years. Thanks for being my late night coffee buddy.

Fun Kristi - I fell completely in love with you right away. I'm hoping for a long car ride soon so that I can hear more of your stories. I also can't wait to name your son someday. Weird.

Holly Jam-On-It - I love that we both think that living with our moms seems like a dream come true. You show me what "driven" looks like - from nursing degrees to potty training. It's fun knowing that you're up for fun at any given moment. Go!

Kelly - I surprised that I haven't scared you off yet. You are always the one who is most concerned for others and I love that your heart looks like that. May awkward situations follow you all the days of your life.

Heather - We've been friends since the night on the swings. You speak truth, throw awesome parties, are great at figuring out the check, have a generous spirit and own great shoes. You are a testament to long lasting friendships.

Carrie - Oh, the coversations we've ripped through. I love that you are one of the first to pray for me and I can truly see just how God has used our friendship. I idolize your fashion sense and your eye for interior design. I just wish it rubbed off on me.

Katie brought her home phone to dinner, just in case.

The movie got over after the mall closed, so Kelly found us a way out of the building.

I really missed the three of you who couldn't make it - good thing I have another birthday coming up next year...

Astraea - You keep moving, but somehow, I've kept up. You are such a calming force for me and I really admire your ability to roll with whatever or whoever shows up in your life. You are a sweet friend.

Kristin - What day did we meet? My maid of honor and roomate - you are such a strong and caring person. I love laughing with you. I can't wait to party at your new pad.

Gaynor - Your home is always open and you are the perfect hostess. You never have a bad word to say about anyone and you shine with Jesus. I'm thankful for your recipe sharing and for lunches at your place. If you ever need a night out...

It was such a special night. Thanks, Friends!

India Influence

Our new threads from India...

Oh, my and yes, the Indian women are small chested! I, however, was determined to get the sucker on.

Josh: "Well, I got you a large."

Kate and Rylee

Asha's daddy is from India, so she joined us and busted out this red number.

A Husband's Opinion

I apparently need to take into account Josh's thoughts on the whole toilet seat cover thing... I really shouldn't be surprised.
