So, Karoline's father-in-law is the family doctor (italics, mine) and he also happens to have a few horses and a rather large indoor riding arena. It was like a bad stirrup joke waiting to happen...
He was kind enough to let the girls (and Scotty) ride the horses, so just past the crack of dawn we put on our chaps (just me) and headed over.
Aunt Karoline, Kate and "Popper"
Kate loved riding the horse, but the second time around she requested "no skipping."

Yee-Haw!
Giving treats to the horses
This is the nice farmer's saint bernard. She was extremely friendly and sweet.
Yeah, I wish we could stay longer too...

The last picture of Kate is so sweet. We're glad you didn't stay longer. Faith still can't believe you didn't visit her at the hospital. We'll blame Katie for making you go to Iowa! ;)
Nice looking horses and those stirrups ... killer!! (Did I put one too many "r"s in that word??)
This is my favorite Iowa post yet. My parents and I are cracking up. He sure was a nice farmer.
He sure seems like a nice farmer...I mean gynocologist...I mean father-in-law...dang...
Um, having your father-in-law as your gyno...does that make family dinners awkward? " Dad, can you pass the peas? Oh, and speaking of peeas....I've had a little burn/itch when I try and pee..."
Let's just clarify that he was the "family doctor" long before he became part of the family :)
