I'm a bit behind - blogging wise, so this story happened a few weeks ago. Pretend we're in real time here, people.
The kids were playing on this sweet playground when Kate came running to me crying.
See that yellow rope on the far left? You sit on the pink disc and swing like crazy... being careful not to bang your little head on the hard wooden pole. Because when you hit your head on the pole, this occurs.
As I've said before, I'm not all that squeemish and I do really well in emergencies - most of the time. This took my breath away. She's fine - we were on Concussion Watch for a day, but then it was starting to heal up a bit.
Kate reminded me that "you told me at school not to let anyone touch my head and to be careful and then you just (insert dramatic gesturing) hit me on the head right on my bump!"
I'm not sure who put me in charge of these kids. Really.

You're in good company - that is SO something I would do!
Poor Katers.
Poor thing. You are just developing a tough cookie, that is all! haha.
I love dramatic gestures!
At school, she told Grace to touch it! Then, she came and tattled that Grace was touching her head and you said not to let people touch it! Funny girl!
Looks even worse than I imagined...
poor thing.
Mikele bang! (there is a little ode to "Friends" for you)
Hey Kater...if this happens again...call me. I'll take you in. :-)
