The Kinder Garden

The big day finally arrived! Kate went to her first day of kindergarten yesterday and to her amazement, she had a special surprise waiting for her that morning...

Keeping with sweet tradition, Holly and Jen snuck over Wednesday night to deliver her banner and cupcakes. She was thrilled! She loved getting dressed in her school shirt. I thought it was cute that most of the girls in her class picked the pink one too.

We stopped at Carrie's for a photo op (that's her school in the background) and some coffee. Oh, and also to use her driveway as a parking spot. Outside Mrs. Martin's door Ready! She and Ava worked on a puzzle together to ease the nerves.

I thought this was the most precious picture.
Kate got lots of phone calls in the afternoon. She chatted with Katie after eating her yummy cupcakes from the girls. She declared her favorite part of kindergarten PE, where they played "skunk tag."
Day 2 went just as well. Mrs. Martin is wonderful and we're so excited for what's to come.

Glad to see there is a Grace in her class...but it's not KATE'S Grace. :)

Yeah, for Kindergarten!!!!! We love your short hairdo, Katers!

Our driveway is your driveway. Until you get your own house in Mayberry and then you can use your own! Only, can you get a golf cart? Because it's my dream to cruise the streets in a cart. Please!
Oh ... and glad Mrs. Martin is less blurry on Day 2.

Precious!! I love every detail. The shiny shoes are perfect and her teacher looks so loving. I think it's cool that she told me on her first day she did the splits for the entire class. Perfect way to make new BFF's. I think I'm going to try that here.

Wow, I can't believe she is already in kindergarten! Seems like I was just visiting you in the hospital after she was born. Time flies!
