Part Duex

So, why were we in British Columbia? Josh's great friend, Daniel, lived here briefly in high school and they've remained buddies through the years. We traveled up to Calgary in 2001 so that Josh could be his best man when he married Nancee. I've never fallen so in love with a group of people that quickly before. A month later, they came straight from their honeymoon in Italy to Phoenix so that Daniel could be Josh's best man in our wedding. We've visited Victoria when I was pregnant with Kate, they came down when she was 10 months old. We went back up a couple of years ago when Daniel's sister, Miriam, got married. We were blessed to have Miriam sing at our own wedding. Anyway, now they have 3 precious girls - Lily who just turned 4, Ivy who is 2 and sweet tiny Lucy, who was 2 weeks old when we crashed their house this time. We came up this year because Daniel's brother, Luke, was getting married. We love their family so much and this was our kids' first time meeting each other, so it was just great all around. On our first full day in Victoria, we took a walk. Everyone walks or rides bikes or takes buses there. Josh and I remarked that we would never walk that far at home, but there really just isn't all that much in walking distance here. And it's hot.

We caught a bus downtown... Kate and Lily

...grabbed some coffee (and steamed milk)...

...saw the sights (that's Daniel up ahead with Ivy in the stroller)...

...and finally arrived at Beacon Hill Park.

It was a beautiful sunny day and this man apparently was getting the most out of it. It got even funnier when a group of daycamp kids walked by. "Children, on your left is a semi-naked man sunbathing. Everyone say, 'sunbathing'."

The park has a really cool petting zoo. This is Ivy brushing the goats.

Miles really took to Daniel... ...and Lily. I'd venture to say that the feeling was mutual. I also got to spend some quality time with little Lucy.

It was a wonderful day.

Oh!! Their girls are so cute. I have always wondered what they looked like. I love Mile's loving Lily. Looks like a dreamy place to live. If you bring your family to come visit us soon I promise you can walk all over the place and we have big gardens and tons of flowers, I will even have Scott sunbathe in the backyard in a speedo. Say Speed-o.
